To all those fools of you out there that say “CABLE INTERNET IS EVIL! DIE DIE DIE!!!” read this.

Once I called my local phone company to see if they were offering ADSL in my area.

Me: “I am calling to see if ADSL is available in my area.”
Customer Service: “56k? Yeah, we offer 56k.”
Me: “No, no. ADSL.”
Customer Service: “Oh, no, we quit offering 28.8k a long time ago.”
Me: “No, I’m talking about ADSL.”
Customer Service: “What city do you live in?”
Me: “Dalton.”
Customer Service: “No, we quit offering 28.8k a long time ago.”

Do you really want service from a provider that can’t even answer a simple question like that? At least with Cable internet, you know it’s on the cable line, and most issues stem from PC related problems, or signal issues, and CABLE isn’t FCC regulated on it’s internet, so no, nothing we can do about getting someone out to you sooner than 2 days from now.

I’m back from vacation, and have already worked two full days at work. My first day back I was pissed off cause Work Force screwed me over, saying, and I quote

“It is your responsibility to send your exceptions in a timely manner. If you have any further comments direct them to your supervisor.”

Here’s the kicker, I submitted my exceptions on the 27th, the last day I was in town, it’s not my responsibility to make sure they enter it on time, it’s only my job to submit my exceptions. I was out of town, on a mountainside, in a tent, with no cellphone reception, on a poor destitute indian reservation with no internet access at all. I returned on the 6th, past the July 5th cutoff date to make corrections on the exceptions.

But bygolly, it’s my responsibility to make sure everything is submitted properly and entered in on time, before the cut off date, even if I’m dead on the bottom of the ocean.

On to better news

Cherokee was fun, I wanna live there so badly now, and leave this crappy town behind.
